Questions from owners

How do I know a message is really from you?

We only email from @ukfoodspot.co.uk and message from Instagram @ukfoodspot. We never ask for passwords, codes or payment. How to check it is us.

Is it really free?

Yes. Listing is free and we take no commission. If we ever add paid extras, they will be optional and clearly labelled "Sponsored".

Can you list a chain?

We focus on independent places. Small local groups with a few sites are welcome, so just ask.

Who decides which dish you show?

You suggest it, and a chef checks it. We show one dish per place, the one that best fits our readers' budget and taste.

How do I change my price or remove my listing?

Send the form again and choose "Update", or tell us in your message. We remove listings on request.

How does Pay it forward work for us?

A customer pays for one extra meal and you pin a tag on a small board by the till. Anyone who needs a meal takes a tag and hands it in, one per person per visit, no questions asked. You choose which dish a tag covers and can stop any time. The same tag-board idea runs at the University of Warwick and at Social Bite.

Do I need an app or a tablet?

No. Customers come in like any other customer. If you offer a deal, they show the page on their phone.
